Navy Counselor Senior Chief Tammy Rose Long is a native of Tampa, Florida, "Go Gators''. She has a daughter Jade, is the first of four children, Cindy, Sheila, Rondia and parents Mary and Ronald Kirk. She graduated from Jackson County High School, Gainesboro, TN in 1983 and enlisted in the United States Navy in December 1984. After completing basic training at Recruit Training Command, Orlando, FL Seaman Recruit Longwas meritoriously advanced to Seaman Apprentice Senior Chief Long's first assignment was USS MCKEE (AS 41) home ported in SanDiego,CA. Followondutystationsinclude:AmphibiousConstruction Battalion ONE (PHIBCB ONE), Coronado, CA; Commander In Chief, U.S. Pacific Fleet (CINCPACFLT) Pearl Harbor, Hawaii where she obtained her Associate degree in Management from Hawaii Pacific University; Naval Technical Training Center (NTTC) Corry Station Pensacola, FL where she obtained her Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Resources Management from Troy University ni 1994 "Go Trojans"; USS SIMON LAKE (AS 33) La Maddalena, Italy; USS JOHN HANCOCK (DD 981), NS Mayport, FL; PATROL SQUADRON THIRTY (VP30), NAS Jacksonville, FL; Naval Mobile Construction Battalion SEVEN (NMCB 7), Gulfport, MS where she deployed in direct support of OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM and ENDURING FREEDOM; Naval Air Technical Training Center (NATTC), Pensacola, FL. In November 2007, NCCS(SW/AW/SCW) Long reported to her final duty station at Commanding General, First Marine Expeditionary Force (CG I MEF), Camp Pendleton, CA and assumed duties as the Immediate Superior In Command, Career Development Program Manager. As the ISIC career counselor she serves as the senior Navy Counselor in the Fleet Marine Force, responsible for 6,000 Sailors and 25 commands and is the principal advisor to the Commanding General on all career progression, education, training, retention and career development programs. NCCS(SW/AW/SCW) Long is triple warfare qualified as Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist and Seabee Combat Warfare Specialist.

Human Resources

consisting of the Command Sponsorship, Indoctrination, Transition Assistance and Professional

Communication
~ Coordinated the communication/transportation Headquarters delegating 60 personnel providing transportation for 21 Ambassadors, 30 State Department personnel and the Assistant Secretary of State conference.
~ Delivered briefings and itineraries to escort officers and drivers for hundreds of foreign dignitaries.
Financial Management
~ Managed a $200,000 budget and the complete inventory of 5 warehouses.
~ Responsible for the maintenance and inventory for over $900,000 worth of equipment.
~ Managed the buying, shipping/receiving, inventory control and maintenance accounts and reduced loss and errors by 50%.
